Film Maker and Creative Thinker with over 12 Years film making experience.
The majority of my working life has been spent in the voluntary sector: making home visits, running workshops, listening to people, evaluating projects, planning events & activities and generally inspiring others to make changes or take action.
I was a founding member of the Isle of Wight Film Network and was on the selection panel for the Isle of Wight Film Festival.
I have co-facilitated documentary film making courses and run introductory workshops on using mobile phones for video production.
I have an ongoing interest in health and have completed courses in Understanding Health Improvement and Mental Health First Aid (Youth).
I have volunteered with the NHS as a Health Buddy and Champion and for Saneline as a telephone counsellor.
I am an Affiliated Partner for Research and Implementation and a Theme Champion and member of the Wessex Involvement in Service Research & Delivery Group and the Wessex Public Involvement Network. I am on the management Board for the PALS study and Wessex PIN.
Meet The Team
I have been film editing since 2006. I have worked on projects ranging from events, documentaries, promotions and evaluations, using both my own footage and that of others.
I enjoy telling a story through film, and believe film can be a powerful medium to create a feeling, emotion about a project that can't be done in any other way. Its a really powerfull way to tell a story
I come from an artistic background, having trained in the nineties as a furniture designer and restorer.
I have always loved photography so the move to the moving image was a natural one.
I also work as an artist and designer for Seabell Artisan
After teaching for 25 years in Primary and Middle Schools on the Isle of WIght, I am now delighted to be part of the Sassy team.
I have long felt the benefits of being part of community groups on my mental health; being a member of Solent Netball Club and also a keen parkrunner and parkrun volunteer. It is however, only more recently that I have seen the real benefits of creativity on well being and mental health.
I am passionate about helping other people realise these benefits by helping them connect creatively.
